Shopping
From boutiques and antiques to artisan food producers and local markets, you will find plenty of choice to suit every taste and pocket.
Grassington and Settle are both within 20 minutes drive of The Queens Arms. Settle, famous for the Settle-Carlisle Railway, offers a good selection of shops including chemist, post office, newsagents, homewares, hairdressing and outdoor clothing. There are also a number of excellent antique shops and second-hand bookstores and a thriving market on a Tuesday set in the market place under the imposing Castlebergh Crag.
The new Courtyard retail and dining development just outside Settle on the A65 heading towards Skipton provides a beautiful, contemporary oasis of food, wine, cheeses, art, gifts, clothing and interiors with an all day Brasserie restaurant.
Kettlewell, which is a lovely stroll over the fell from The Queens Arms, has a lovely array of independent shops and also a must-visit Tea Room called Zarinas, which serves delicious treats come rain or shine.
Grassington offers a relaxed shopping experience with plenty of cafes and tea shops to stop for a relaxed pot of tea. Chocolate, crafts, clothing and galleries feature strongly in Grassington along with a pretty cobbled and planted village centre.
