Local Supply
At The Queens Arms we are incredibly privileged to have some fabulous local food producers available to us along with the very best Dales fresh flora and fauna to work with.
We are very proud and the provenance of the ingredients used at The Queens Arms - some examples of which are shown below - and you can always rest assured that if it is available to us locally, we will use it.
Fruit and Vegetables
We source herbs, lettuce and seasonal vegetables from local Dales farms and small producers. Fruit and out of season vegetables come from Yorkshire market gardeners near York and Thirsk.
Dairy
Milk is from Dales Dairies in Grassington.
Fish
The fish comes to us fresh from local day boats in Cleveland.
Meat
Award winning sausages come from Richard Jackson of Jacksons of Cracoe.
Additional our Lamb is supplied by our neighbors Dave and Rish.
Pork and Beef currently comes from Stanforth’s CCM Butchers based at the Auction Mart in Skipton. Stanforth’s source all their meat from local farmers, especially the Kitching’s farm in Threshfield.
Game
We buy game locally from shoots. Pheasant are sourced from a shoot in Litton across the valley from the pub and another shoot in Arncliffe. Grouse are bought from the shoots on both Arncliffe and Threshfield moors.
Locals supply us with our rabbits.
Cakes
The current Littondale Supreme champion provides us with the baking for our cakes, and desserts.
Eggs
Our egg supply is boosted from a number of local small farms in Litton.
Beers
Our bar is anchored by Queens Arms Best a 3.7% bitter brewed by Greene King, the local’s favourite. We also run guest ales which is currently Ilkely’s Wharfedale Blonde brew and old Hoppy Hen.
